Chamber winds in rehearsal

Southeast Chamber Winds

The Southeast Chamber Winds is the “newest” ensemble to be added to the six existing University Bands. The Chamber Winds consists of the finest wind and percussion students at the University. This group of students performs standard wind and percussion literature from quartets to mixed ensembles of 12 to 15 players.

This group was formed officially in the spring of 2004 as a featured performing ensemble at the 2004 National American School Band Directors Association Convention held in St. Louis in July 2004. The Chamber Winds also was recently featured in the Children’s Festival of the Arts, sponsored by the Missouri Arts Council and Southeast Hospital.

Admission into this elite wind and percussion ensemble is limited to students who are members of the Southeast Wind Symphony or University Symphony Orchestra and is selected by audition.
