Laura Guyer Ross Double Reeds, Adjunct Faculty Laura Guyer Ross received her Bachelor of Music in Oboe Performance from Miami University in Ohio and her Master of Music in Oboe Performance from Arkansas State University. Ms. Ross has performed with the Oxford Chamber Orchestra, the Woodstock City Orchestra, the Pine Bluff Symphony Orchestra, the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Opera South, the Batesville Symphony Orchestra, the Equinox Chamber Players, and the St. Louis Philharmonic. She is a featured soloist on the recording, “Wind of the Spirit II,” released in 2001. Along with the international music group, Global Rhythms, she has played with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and toured to such universities as Cornell University and University of Pennsylvania. In 2001, Ms. Ross received a grant to study music abroad. During her stay in India, she performed as featured soloist with the Madras String Quartet. Ms. Ross is an active supporter of chamber music. During her graduate assistantship, she founded and played principal oboe in the ASU Chamber Winds. Since her recent arrival to St. Louis in August of 2005, she has been heard in such chamber series as the Shepley Program of Music & Art, Friends of Music Concerts, and Sundays at Three in Cape Girardeau. In the fall of 2006, Ms. Ross began teaching at Southeast Missouri State University as Adjunct Professor of Double Reeds.
