Southeast Wind Symphony

The Southeast Wind Symphony is the premier wind and percussion ensemble on campus. This ensemble performs the highest level of wind literature, including standard wind band and contemporary literature. This band performs two to three formal concerts per semester. The Wind Symphony has performed at the Missouri Music Educators Association Conference, the College Band Directors National Association Conference, the Music Educators Nation Conference and most recently with the St. Louis Wind Symphony in a joint concert at Kirkwood High School Auditorium in March 2006. The Wind Symphony also has performed many premieres of new literature for wind band by some of the world’s finest composers.

Auditons for this elite ensemble are held at the beginning of each semester and is open to both majors and non-majors.  The Southeast Wind Symphony presents two performances each semester in the crown jewel of the River Campus, Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall.  Tickets may be purchased through Metrotix, or through the box office at the Holland School for Visual and Performing Arts at 651-2265.
