Summer Group Classes

Adult Piano Class-Paul Thompson, Instructor

Make music, make friends, and have FUN while doing it. It’s not about hitting the right note or being the best-it’s about enjoying the experience, having fun, and picking up some new skills and friends along the way. Classes are taught in our State of the Art Piano Lab (Room RCS 404) on the Southeast Missouri State University River Campus (what you remember as the St. Vincent Seminary).
Two lessons each week (Tuesdays & Thursdays) 3-4:00 PM

American Fiddle Styles-Steve Schaffner, Instructor

Exploring American Fiddle Styles exposes young players to a variety of American folk music styles which are part of our rich cultural heritage. Students will explore Bluegrass, Celtic, French-Canadian, Cajun, Old-Timey and Western Swing.

Age range for this course in 8-18. Student should have a minimum of one year's playing experience, have completed a Book I text (Suzuki, Essential Elements for Strings, Strictly Strings, String Builder, All for Strings, etc.), and be able to read music in 1st position.

Classes meet the week of July 23, Monday-Friday, from 11-12 PM.
Camp at Dobbins Center Room RCC 120

Fee $60.
