- Wayne Smith, vice president for University Advancement and executive director of the Southeast Missouri University Foundation
- Tom Cushman, a 1956 graduate of Southeast, author of Muhammad Ali and the Greatest Heavyweight Generation, former sports editor and columnist of the San Diego Union-Tribune and currently a free lance writer and frequent contributor to San Diego Magazine. Cushman is also a former editor of the Capaha Arrow and a former reporter with the Southeast Missourian.
