‘How to Start a New Business’ Training Session Offered Aug. 31 in Sikeston

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Aug. 3, 2010 -- The Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) of Southeast Missouri State University is holding a business training event, "How to Start a New Business!" Aug. 31 in Sikeston, Mo.

The session will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce, 1 Industrial Drive in Sikeston. The instructor is Russell Humphrey, director of the SBTDC at Southeast.

Topics to be covered will include: being in business for yourself; legal, tax, marketing and financing issues; resources for Missouri business owners; and a questions and answers.

This is an informal, interactive program that emphasizes real world information and is specifically designed for people who are thinking about starting or buying a business.

The fee for attending is $30 with a discounted fee of $15 for an accompanying business partner or family member. Pre-registration is required. Seating is limited; please reserve your spot as soon as you decide to attend.  Call (573) 986-6084 for a registration form or more information.
