Early Christianity Topic of Nov. 15 Lecture
Dr. Honora Howell Chapman, professor of classics and humanities at California State University-Fresno (CSUF), will present the lecture at 7 p.m. in Rose Theatre in Grauel Building, 408 N. Pacific.
The event, the second in an annual lecture series on humanities in Western Civilization, is open to the public and is sponsored by Stan and Debbie Crader, the Department of History, the College of Liberal Arts and the Southeast Missouri University Foundation.
Chapman is a world-renowned expert on the history of early Christianity and Judaism in the Roman Empire, who has appeared on The History Channel and lectured in six countries. She has written and spoken widely on the ancient world, including Alexander the Great, the Olympics, Flavius Josephus and the New Testament in History. At CSUF, she is coordinator of classics, director of Smittcamp Family Honors College and teaches Greek and Latin.
