Southeast Wind Symphony Performing ‘Let the Winds Dance!’ Concert
The concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall and is open to the public. The concert will highlight music associated with many types of dance forms.
The program will consist of the “March” from Paul Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis, the “Arabesque” of Samuel Hazo, “Mambo Loco” from Ira Hearshen’s Divertimento, the multi-movement “Satiric Dances” by Norman Dello Joio, and “Sarabande and Polka” from Malcolm Arnold’s ballet Solitaire. The woodwind, brass, and percussion sections will each be featured performing music of Dietz, Holst and Sparke.
The Southeast Wind Symphony is comprised of the finest woodwind, brass and percussion performers from throughout the University. The Department’s newest faculty member, Dr. Martin Reynolds, is the conductor of the Wind Symphony.
