Heritage Plaza to be Unveiled Homecoming Weekendby News Bureau on
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Oct. 8, 2011 – The Southeast Missouri State University Alumni Association will present the Southeast Heritage Plaza Unveiling Ceremony as a part of Homecoming activities at 11 a.m. Oct. 22 at the Aleen Vogel Wehking Alumni Center at 926 Broadway in Cape Girardeau.
The ceremony will be located on the west side of the building near the main entrance.
“The Southeast Heritage Plaza is the culmination of several years of hard work and support by so many great alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends of the University,” said Shad Burner, director of Alumni Services.
The Southeast Heritage Plaza brick campaign invited families, individuals and organizations to literally leave their marks on the University campus. Proceeds from the campaign were used to construct the patio area and to create an endowment to help assist the newly reorganized Alumni Association.
“The Southeast Heritage Plaza is going to be a great addition to the Wehking Alumni Center,” Burner said.
