CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Oct. 10, 2011—D’Ann de Simone’s thought-provoking collaged prints will be spotlighted at the Southeast Missouri State University River Campus Art Gallery beginning Oct. 24.
The exhibit will run through Nov. 17, and the opening reception will take place from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 4 in the gallery. The artist will discuss her work which reflects her increasing anxiety over the state of the American culture and its impact on the global environment, other cultures and species during an artist’s talk from noon to 1 p.m. Nov. 2 in the John and Betty Glenn Convocation Center.
The collaged prints combine a variety of handmade pieces, digitally produced prints and found elements.
Simone, professor of art at Michigan State University, received degrees from Rhode Island School of Design, Brown University and University of Massachusetts.
The River Campus Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the historic Seminary Building in Room 106.
