‘Web-Based Tools’ Small Business Workshop Announcedby News Bureau on
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Nov. 20, 2011-- A free, small business training session on “Web-Based Tools” will be offered Dec. 12 in Cape Girardeau and at Southeast Missouri State University’s regional campuses in Kennett, Malden and Sikeston, Mo.
This Interactive Television (ITV) one-night class, sponsored by the Douglas C. Greene Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), will offer valuable information about some of today's Web-based tools like Cloud computing and applications for smart phones and tablets.
Justin Pobst, the CIE's Small Business Development and Technology Development Center's business counselor, will present "Web-Based Tools" on Monday, Dec. 12 from 6-8:30pm.
"The future of small business success is understanding new technologies, new applications and new products," Pobst said. "It's important to our Center to help educate small business owners about current and upcoming hi-tech technologies and Web-based applications that can help them run their businesses more efficiently and effectively."
In an effort to reach as many business owners as possible and allow for participant flexibility, the CIE is offering "Web-Based Tools" via ITV, with class origination in Cape Girardeau.
"Our Center believes it is important to offer informative, small business training classes in a variety of formats and locations so that we have a better chance of educating and helping as many entrepreneurs as possible," said Gina Harper, CIE project coordinator for the business growth workshops which are funded in part by the U.S. Department of Labor.
