Tax Tips for Small Business Webinar Announcedby News Bureau on
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., March 9, 2012 -- This tax season, small business owners will have another resource available to learn about common tax questions.
On Friday, March 23, the Douglas C. Greene Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) through its Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) will offer a webinar on the “Top 5 Tax Tips for Small Business.” The Center has invited Brian Menz, a CPA with Menz and Menz, LLC in Sikeston, to be the guest presenter for the tax webinar.
The tax tips webinar, scheduled for noon to 12:45 p.m. on March 23, will provide answers to the questions most commonly asked by small businesses and offer tips on maximizing deductions. Topics include how to plan for and pay estimated taxes, tips on the home office deduction, hiring your child, the automobile deduction and reporting meals and travel.
“Everyone wants to save as much money as possible when it comes to income taxes,” said Sandra Cabot, assistant director for outreach and interim director for the SBTDC. “This will be a fast-paced, informative presentation perfect for business owners and office managers. Since they can log in from the convenience of their office, small businesses find the webinar format a very convenient format for special topic training.”
Featured speaker for the webinar, Menz graduated cum laude from Southeast Missouri State University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and received his Certified Public Accountant certificate in 1990. After spending two years with a St. Louis accounting firm, he returned to Sikeston, Mo., to join his father Richard Menz’s accounting firm. Menz and Menz, LLC specializes in individual, small business, agricultural, estate, and trust taxation and accounting along with accounting, write up and payroll services.
Joining the CIE’s Small Business & Technology Development Center in hosting the webinar are the University of Missouri Small Business & Technology Development Centers in Jackson and Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Due to grant support from the U.S. Small Business Administration, there is no cost to register for the webinar; however, pre- registration is required.
