US Bank Donates $1,750 for Music, Art, Theatre and Dance Academy Scholarshipsby News Bureau on
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., June 29, 2012 -- US Bancorp Foundation recently donated $1,750 to the Southeast Missouri University Foundation to support scholarships for students from underserved populations to attend Southeast Missouri State University’s academies for music, art, and theatre and dance.
US Bancorp Foundation donates to organizations that offer support to programs that improve the educational and economic opportunities of low and moderate income families and enhance the cultural and artistic life of the community.
The funds will be distributed equally among the three academies.
The Art Academy is a series of workshops offered during the summer to student artists interested in broadening and enriching their art experiences, realizing their personal and contemporary vision, and building their portfolios for the college level.
Southeast’s summer Theatre and Dance Academy provides an educational performing arts experience for kindergarteners through high school students during the summer.
The Southeast Missouri Music Academy offers musical instruction throughout the year to pre-schoolers through adults students on all band and orchestral instruments, voice, piano, classical guitar, organ and harp. In addition to traditional private instruction, the Academy offers the popular Suzuki Strings program, musicianship classes, adult piano and guitar classes, and a class for pre-schoolers.
