MBA Program Among U.S. News Best Online, Traditional Graduate Programsby News Bureau on
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., March 13, 2013 – The online Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Southeast Missouri State University is among the nation’s best online graduate business programs, according to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Graduate Schools 2014 rankings released March 12.
Southeast’s online MBA program is ranked 50th nationally. The rankings are based on factors such as level of accreditation, reputation for excellence among peer institutions, and academic and career support services offered to students.
"The option to earn a degree online benefits those whose schedules, location or time restraints would otherwise prevent them from coming to campus to earn a degree," said Dr. Kenneth Heischmidt, director of graduate programs in Southeast's Harrison College of Business. "This option is ideal for people who need flexibility because of their personal or professional circumstances.”
The MBA general management option is available entirely online through Southeast Online Programs. The general management option is ideal for individuals aspiring to advance into upper managerial positions and holds the same AACSB accreditation as other options available on-campus. While focusing on business administration coursework emphasizing leadership, communication, information technology and financial analysis, students learn how to manage people and resources in the global marketplace.
In addition, the U.S. News rankings announced March 12 also listed Southeast’s traditional MBA program among the nation’s best graduate business programs. Nine degree options in the traditional MBA program are available: general management, international business, accounting, finance, environmental management, industrial management, health administration, entrepreneurship and sport management.
Highlights of the U.S. News rankings will be published in the Best Graduate Schools 2014 guidebook, which will be on newsstands starting April 9. The complete version of the new Best Graduate Schools rankings, which include the full data with extended rankings, will be available online only through the U.S. News Graduate School Compass.
This year’s edition includes new rankings for five of the largest professional graduate school disciplines – business, law, education, engineering and medicine – as well as specialty rankings within each discipline.
“When searching for a graduate program, there are many key factors students research,” said Brian Kelly, editor and chief content officer of U.S. News & World Report. “By providing the best and most current data on these programs, U.S. News seeks to ease the decision making process.”
