Students Honored with ADDY Awardsby News Bureau on
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., March 27, 2013 – Southeast Missouri State University students were presented with ADDY awards honoring their collaborative work at the Tri-State Advertising and Marketing Professionals ADDY Awards banquet March 1 at the Plaza by Ray’s in Cape Girardeau.
Student teams worked in collaboration in conceptual projects for area community clients. Teams were under the direction of Sandy Sen, assistant professor of marketing, Louise Bodenheimer, associate professor of art, and Peter Chanthanakone, assistant professor of industrial and engineering technology.
The winning entries were the results of coursework completed by students last year. In spring 2012, students in MK343 “Advertising and Promotion,” AR408 “Graphic Design Print Production,” and GM320 “Graphic User Interface Design” worked together with Cape Girardeau's Discovery Playhouse. During the fall 2012 semester, MK443 “Integrated Marketing Communications Practicum” and AR 416 “Advanced Graphic Design” worked with Leet EyeCare in Cape Girardeau and Timeless Tributes of Farmington, Mo.

A Bronze ADDY for their Discovery Playhouse comment card was presented to MK343 students Daniel Doelling, Ibrahim Elbreki, Cory Gool, Marquise Green, Penglong Liu and Joshua McDonough, and AR408 students Miya Chen, Madeline Movesian and Jeff Sutterfield.
A Bronze ADDY for their Discovery Playhouse rack card was presented to MK343 students Kelsey Bonnell, Yaoyun Kang, Felix Lewis, Victoria Meert, Kimberly Urbaniak and Christopher Wolfmeier, and AR408 students Heather Davis and Anna Otto.
A Silver ADDY for their Discovery Playhouse brochure and a Bronze ADDY for their Discovery Playhouse business card were presented to MK343 students Kellie Blount, Benjamin Kayser, Jessica Radtke, Kasee Wood and Jingjing Zhang, and AR408 students Ashley Geringer and Jay Pierce.
A Bronze ADDY for their Discovery Playhouse rack card was presented to MK343 students Brian Fercho, Amy Hanebrink, Emily Johns, Timothy Lammert, Lauren Reiche and Yi Tang, and AR408 students Lana Glenn and Kendra Rinehart.
A Gold ADDY for their Discovery Playhouse Facebook cover photo was presented to MK343 students Kathryn Bridgewater, Colin Brown, Anita Lucious, Carlos Rodriguez and Amber Taylor, and AR408 students Edward Haney and Sierra Russow.
A Silver ADDY for their Discovery Playhouse website and a Bronze ADDY for their Discovery Playhouse bookmark were presented to MK343 students Rune Ebsen, Karen Holman, Jake Meyer, Hillarie Mueller, Jake Netherland and Laura Spotanski; AR408 students Ivy Lin and Mike Sansagraw, and GM320 students Brett Crow, Chrisopher Bonner and Noah Canavan.
A Silver ADDY for their Discovery Playhouse poster, a Bronze ADDY for their Discovery Playhouse postcard and a Bronze ADDY for their Discovery Playhouse rack card were presented to MK343 students Thomas Davis, Rachel Hofmann, Stephanie Schmidt and Jessica Seyller, and AR408 students Kaytlin Sedgwick, Alicia Zarlingo and Brandi Mackenberg.
Winners from Fall 2012 Coursework
A Bronze ADDY for their Timeless Tributes brochure and a Bronze ADDY for their Timeless Tributes banner campaign were presented to MK443 students Steven Bieser, Lauren Coombs, Megan Crafton, Samantha Perry and Taylor Westrick, and AR416 students Marissa Blandford, Otto and Sedgwick.
A Silver ADDY for their Timeless Tributes email and a Bronze ADDY for their Timeless Tributes postcard campaign were presented to MK443 students Doelling, Joshua Egbuka, Katherine Granger, David Jones and Steven Wiesehan, and AR416 students Heather Davis and Sarah Parker.
Students under the instruction of Bodenheimer in AR416 designed signage, tickets and a program booklet for the Mid America Print Council (MAPC) Biennial Conference hosted last November by the Department of Art and coordinated by Kristin Powers Nowlin, instructor of art, who acted as client to the project. Student Zack Tucker designed the logo that appeared on all materials in addition to designing the Web page for the conference.The entire class functioned like an agency. It was divided in half with a student art director supervising each half. Team leaders helped with design and coordination of workflow. Designs were executed by team members, and consultation with the client took place periodically.
A Gold ADDY and Best of Show was presented for the MAPC Integrated Campaign, Business-to Business, to art director Sansagraw; design team leaders Sutterfield, Haney and Tim Schrieber; design team members Heather Davis, Pierce, Sedgwick, Laura Garcia Rodriguez, Meghan Orr, Rosie Williams and Sydnie Kocher; and Tucker.
A Silver ADDY was presented for the MAPC butler brochure to designer Sansagraw.
A Bronze ADDY was awarded for the MAPC event booklet to art director Rinehart; design team leaders Otto, Tori Pfau and Lara Willson; and design team members Clara Lewis, Russow, Movesian, Parker, Blandford and Zarlingo.
