CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., May 1, 2013 – KRCU Public Radio announces plans to broadcast “Wits,” a live public radio program bringing some of the hottest comedians and most popular and critically acclaimed indie musicians to St. Paul, Minn. The show will air Sundays at 10 a.m. immediately following “Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!”
“Wits” mixes improv, sketch comedy, conversation, music and surprises in a program praised as “one of the rare public radio comedy shows that’s actually funny” (Huffington Post) and “a wildly successful radio show.” (City Pages, Minneapolis)
Host John Moe has welcomed such artists as Rosanne Cash, John Hodgman, Julia Sweeney, Tim Meadows and many others. Moe has a long and varied career in public radio as well as comedy. He recently served as host of “Marketplace Tech Report,” and his reporting and commentary has been heard on “All Things Considered,” “Marketplace” and numerous other public radio programs.
KRCU General Manager Dan Woods says, “While the show has been in production since 2010, it was recently made available to stations for broadcast. We want our listeners to have the opportunity to enjoy new, innovative public radio programming.”
