The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents will consider a proposed $91.2 million operating budget and a proposed $27.6 million auxiliary operating budget, both for fiscal 2008, when its meets June 18.

Regents to Consider Fiscal 2008 University, Auxiliary Operating Budgets

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., June 15, 2007 – The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents will consider a proposed $91.2 million operating budget and a proposed $27.6 million auxiliary operating budget, both for fiscal 2008, when its meets June 18.

The Regents also will consider a fiscal 2009-2010 $64.8 million capital budget request to be submitted to the Department of Higher Education.

The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. in the University Center Ballroom.

The meeting will begin with consideration of a motion to go into a closed session for appropriate considerations. When the open session reconvenes, the Regents, in addition to the operating, auxiliary and capital budget items, will consider a new program, a bachelor of arts degree in global studies with one of five options: Hispanic, Francophone, Germanic, Japanese and Chinese. Also, the Regents will consider appointments to the Missouri Research Corporation Board of Directors and a revised refund policy for incidental fees.

The Regents will hear the President's Report, which will include reports on the Biennial Review of the Lift for Life Academy, the opening of the Southeast Business Incubator, the Southeast Apprentice Program and contracts and Facilities Management projects.
 

The Board will receive several information items, including an update on the opening of the Technology Village; the spring 2007 edition of UPLIFT, the Lift for Life Academy and Gym newsletter; the Department of Health and Human Services Audit Report for July 1, 2005-June 30, 2006; the Department of Public Safety and Transit 2006 Annual Report; and a publication titled "Technology Across the Curriculum."

The Regents will consider a motion to go into a closed executive session for appropriate consideration. When the open session reconvenes, personnel items and consideration of a motion to adjourn will be made.
