Malden Student Awarded Sheriff Jim Elliott Scholarship to Attend Malden Campus

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 14, 2008 – Kaleigh Ellsworth of Malden, Mo., has been awarded the Sheriff Jim Elliott Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University-Malden for the 2008-2009 academic year.

The Sheriff Jim Elliott Scholarship is a one-year Crisp Bootheel Education Center (CBEC) Incentive Scholarship valued at $4,500 and covers the cost of incidental, general and textbook rental fees for up to 30 Southeast credit hours per academic year at the Southeast regional campus.

Ellsworth is the daughter of Paul and Regina Beck, and Pet Ellsworth, all of Malden, and will be a 2008 graduate of Malden High School. During her high school years, she has been active in SADD and BETA Club and has received the gold medal in science and computer class.

She plans on majoring in criminal justice at Southeast.
