Gideon Student Awarded William Nolan-Linda Matthews Scholarship

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., May 7, 2008 – Travis Miller of Gideon, Mo., has been awarded the William Nolan-Linda Matthews Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University-Malden for the 2008-2009 academic year.

The William Nolan-Linda Matthews Scholarship is a one-year Crisp Bootheel Education Center (CBEC) Incentive Scholarship valued at $4,500 and covers the cost of incidental, general and textbook rental fees for up to 30 Southeast credit hours per academic year at the Southeast regional campus.

Miller is the son of Wanda and Earl Miller of Gideon, Mo., and Mary Miller of Bernie, Mo. He will be a 2008 graduate of Clarkton High School. During his high school years, he has been a four-year member of the basketball team and was active with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
