Campbell Student Awarded Val and Helen Mitchell Scholarship to Attend Malden Campus

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., May 8, 2008 – Heather Knotts of Campbell, Mo., has been awarded the Val and Helen Mitchell Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University-Malden for the 2008-2009 academic year.

The Val and Helen Mitchell Scholarship is a one-year Crisp Bootheel Education Center (CBEC) Incentive Scholarship valued at $4,500 and covers the cost of incidental, general and textbook rental fees for up to 30 Southeast credit hours per academic year at the Southeast regional campus.

Knotts is the daughter of Sherry Frederick of Campbell, Mo., and Steve Knotts of Freeburg, Ill. She will be a 2008 graduate of Campbell High School. During her high school years, she has been active in Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Future Farmers of America, FCCLA and Student Council. She was president of her sophomore class and vice president of her freshman class. She was named February Student of the Month this year. Knotts plans on majoring in nursing.
