KRCU Radio to Carry Missouri Gubernatorial Debate Oct. 9

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Oct. 7, 2008 -- KRCU, Southeast Public Radio at Southeast Missouri State University, will offer live coverage Oct. 9 of the Missouri Gubernatorial debate between the two major-party candidates seeking to become the next governor of Missouri.

The debate is scheduled for 11 a.m. to noon  and is will be held at KCUR-FM in Kansas City during their daily public affairs show "Up to Date" with Steve Kraske, political correspondent for The Kansas City Star.

Democratic Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon and his Republican opponent U.S. Rep. Kenny Hulshof (Mo.-9) of Columbia, Mo., will debate the issues, ranging from health care to transportation infrastructure, job growth and the economy.

The debate will be available locally on KRCU 90.9 FM in Cape Girardeau, KSEF 88.9 FM in Farmington and online at www.krcu.org.
