CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Nov. 5, 2009 - The Department of Recreation Services announced that Madison Lowrance, a senior from Cape Girardeau, Mo., has been named the October 2009 “Employee of the Month” for her service in the Department of Recreation Services at Southeast Missouri State University.

The Recreational Sports Employee of the Month is the highest achievement award given to the Department of Recreational Sports student employees for going “above and beyond” the normal call of duty to assist the program, patrons and users of Southeast’s recreational facilities.

Lowrance, who works in the operation center and in the business office for the department, was named for her outstanding rapport with customers and patrons. 

Lowrance will be graduating from Southeast in May 2010 with a degree in psychology and a minor in child studies. She plans to further her education and obtain her master’s degree and then a doctorate.

“She is an outstanding employee and is always looking for ways to make the customer happy with their experience with us,” said Troy Vaughn, director of Recreation Services.
