Are there application deadlines?
Yes. They are March 1 for the fall semester and Oct. 1 for the spring semester. Entrance into the program is based on GPA and science courses.
Is there an application fee?
There is no application fee for the Department of Nursing.
What constitutes an official college/university transcript? Do I need to provide one
from each college/university/nursing school I have attended?
An official transcript is a sealed document sent directly from the college/university to the School of Graduate Studies (MS4400, One University Plaza, Cape Girardeau MO 63701).
You do need to provide one from each school you have attended.
Must I send a transcript if I graduated from Southeast Missouri State University?
Is admission competitive?
Yes. There are a limited number of seats per semester. We admit 35 students each fall and spring semester.
What is a Criminal Record Check?
A criminal background check shows evidence of misdemeanor and/or felony offenses.
How do I know if all of my application materials have been received?
Southeast Missouri State University will notify you when you are admitted to the University. The Department of Nursing will send you notification when we receive your application and we will let you know if there is anything else you need to submit.
When and how should I expect to learn about my admission status?
The Department of Nursing will notify you and let you know whether or not you have been admitted to the program or placed on a reserve list. The department will also let you know if you have not been admitted to the program.
