Is part-time study available?
No. Part-time study is not recommended. Students are encouraged to follow the curricular pattern on the Web site. Contact the Nursing Department’s director of graduate studies prior to any change in your program of study to discuss the issues/consequences.

Courses are offered in a prescribed sequence. That sequence allows for very limited flexibility in a student’s program of study.
How long will it take to complete the MSN Program?
The FNP option of the MSN Program can be completed in two calendar years involving five (5) consecutive semesters.
Is there a time limit for the completion of the MSN Degree?
The MSN program must be completed within six years. Students may formally request an extension. This extension requires approval by the Graduate Program Committee within the Department of Nursing as well as the University's Dean of Graduate Studies.
What grades are required for progression in the MSN Program?
Students in the FNP option must earn a grade of “B” or higher in NS625 Advanced Pharmacology, NS636 Advanced Pathophysiology and NS628 Advanced Health Assessment in order to enroll in the first FNP specialty course – NS638 Primary Care I: Family. A minimum grade of "B" or higher is required to successfully complete NS638 Primary Care I, NS648 Primary Care II, NS649 Primary Care II Practicum, and NS659 Primary Care III Clinical Role Practicum.
Is there a standard grading scale for courses within the College of Nursing?
Yes. It is in the MSN Handbook.
Can I work full-time and successfully complete graduate course requirements?
This answer varies from student to student. Full-time work is not encouraged. A weekend option work schedule may be helpful if full-time employment is necessary.
