Does my son/daughter need a local bank account?

No, they will not necessarily need a local bank account. Numerous ATMs are available both on and near campus, and with credit and debit cards, gift cards, etc., many first-year students do not necessarily need to have a local bank account. However, Commerce Bank* does have a full banking facility located inside the Southeast Bookstore with ATMs available at the Bookstore and at the Towers Residence Hall complex. *As of July 1st, 2013, U.S. Bank will provide banking services with the university instead of Commerce Bank.
