My child needs assistance due to a disability. Where does he/she go to get assistance? Southeast Missouri State University is committed to providing services for students with disabilities. A disability is defined by the American Disabilities Act of 1990 as a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity. Services for students with disabilities are provided by Learning Assistance Programs and Disability Support Services located in the University Center 302, phone (573) 651-2273; e-mail lecenter@semo.edu; visit the Web site. The most common disabilities that we provide accommodations for are attention deficit/hyperactivity disorders, hearing impairments, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, psychological disorders and visual impairments. Accommodations are provided on a case-by-case basis and are determined by the documentation provided by the student at registration. Please contact Learning Assistance Programs and Disability Support Services if you have any questions. |
