Carpooling is defined as two or more individuals who ride together and arrive and depart the campus at the same time. Individuals who merely "share" or drive the same vehicle to the campus at different times are not eligible for carpool parking passes.
Carpool permits will be requested in person at Parking Services. Each member of the carpool must be present to sign the user agreement. The hangtag will not be issued until all persons in the carpool have completed a user agreement.
Carpool permits will be hangtags that are transferable between vehicles in the pool. Permits will be issued for an academic year, as are all other parking permits.
Spaces are designated as carpool parking by signage. Should the carpool spaces be filled, carpoolers will park in perimeter parking and use the shuttle service to reach the interior of campus.
Cars without carpool permits that are parked in carpool spaces will be ticketed and towed. Cars with carpool permits in spaces other than carpool spaces will be ticketed.
Carpool spaces will not be available to any permit parking at 4:00 p.m., as in preferred commuter lots. Carpool permits are only valid in carpool spaces from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Carpool spaces are located in the following parking lots: Parking Lot #1-20 at Kent Library, Parking Lot #1-25 Behind Grauel Building, Parking Lot #4-12 at Demptster Hall, and Parking Lot #4-14 at Johnson Hall.
Carpool permits are sold in the Fall at a cost of $255 and will remain valid for the Academic year. Carpool permits issued during the Spring semester are sold at a reduced fee of $191. Carpool permits requested in the Summer are sold at a cost of $143.Back to Parking Home
