Physics Alumni Scholarship

EP007. PHYSICS ALUMNI. Open to beginning freshmen who are majoring in a program leading towards a B.S. degree granted by the Physics and Engineering Physics Department. Applicant must have a minimum ACT score of 24. The past year's recipient may reapply for this scholarship provided they have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and are active participants in the Physics and Engineering Club. Deadline is May 1.

Student Outcomes

Student outcomes describe what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation. These relate to the knowledge, skills, and behaviors that students acquire as they progress through the program.

Upon completion of a Program of Study in the Department of Physics and Engineering Physics, students should be able to demonstrate:

  • an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering
  • an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
  • an ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability

  • an ability to identify, formulate, and solve physics and engineering problems
