We will begin accepting applications for Class 98 beginning April 9, 2017. Class 98 will be a full-time class, however the specific format has not been determined yet. It will be either Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. OR Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. plus one Friday per month. It will be held at our Cape Girardeau location and will begin on August 7, 2017 and run between 17 and 19 weeks, depending on the final format.

The Law Enforcement Academy at Southeast Missouri State University is dedicated to meeting the training needs of all law enforcement officers and agencies in the University service area. The Academy, a Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) approved provider, has provided basic and specialized training for more than 2,800 law enforcement officers since the Academy was established in 1987.
Our graduates have gone on to work for agencies at all levels of law enforcement including local, county, state and Federal, including the FBI, DEA, ATF and the U.S. Marshall's Service.

You can continue in the long-standing tradition of attending the academy as part of our certificate program or now, you can earn college credit towards your Bachelor's Degree by attending the academy as part of a four year degree program.
