We will begin accepting applications for Class 97 beginning September 12, 2016. Class 97 is a full-time, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. class that will be held at our Cape Girardeau location. It begins on January 9, 2017 and runs for 19 weeks.
We will begin accepting applications for Class 98 beginning September 26, 2016. Class 98 is a part-time, weekend class that will meet at the Kennett campus every Friday from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., and every Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. It begins on January 20, 2017 and last approximately 11 months. NOTE - In order for this class to happen, we will need to have 20 students accepted and enrolled by first week of January, 2017. If we do not have 20 students, the class will be cancelled.
The Law Enforcement Academy at Southeast Missouri State University is dedicated to meeting the training needs of all law enforcement officers and agencies in the University service area. The Academy, a Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) approved provider, has provided basic and specialized training for more than 2,800 law enforcement officers since the Academy was established in 1987.
Our graduates have gone on to work for agencies at all levels of law enforcement including local, county, state and Federal, including the FBI, DEA, ATF and the U.S. Marshall's Service.
