Racial Profiling

This course is 3 hours and costs $25. This class is included in the CEU Contract Program at no additional cost. It will be held in the Academy Classroom at 122 S. Ellis Street in Cape Girardeau.

Course Summary:
During the course, officers will become familiar with the requirements of 590.650 RSMo as they pertain to racial profiling, and compliance with these requirements. The course will address the 4th Amendment issues involved with vehicle stops, and techniques for conducting safe, and non-confrontational stops once reasonable suspicion has been established.

Attendance Policy:
"Students attending Continuing Education programs sponsored by the Southeast Missouri State University Law Enforcement Academy must attend all of the regular blocks of instruction in order to receive a certificate of completion.  In Continuing Education Programs, which consist of discreet blocks of instruction, the student may receive continuing education credits for those blocks which are actually completed."
