Department of Agriculture

Approximately 23 million Americans, or one out of every six workers, are currently employed in the agricultural and food system.  Careers in this program are important and rewarding because the products of agriculture–food, fiber, fuel, ornamental plants, flowers, veterinary services and many other natural goods and services–are either essential to life or make our lives significantly better.

Students in the Department of Agriculture are provided with outstanding facilities and computer technology, an excellent internship program and numerous real-world learning opportunities.

Department of Industrial & Engineering Technology

The Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology is housed in the School of Polytechnic Studies, which is recognized as a Missouri Center of Excellence in Advanced Manufacturing Technology and has programs accredited by the Association of Technology Management and Applied Engineering (ATMAE). It also is recognized as the state model for 2 + 2 transfer of technology degrees from community colleges. The school provides high-tech education and specialized training to meet the needs of the region.

Students’ interested in technological or management-oriented tasks such as implementing computer controlled systems, solving manufacturing production problems, designing graphics with computers or instructing technical subjects, will find career opportunities plentiful. Employment is expected to increase in this field faster than the average of all occupations for the next decade.
