Endowed & Sponsored Scholarships for First Year Students School of Polytechnic Studies EA011. AGRICULTURE CLUB. Awarded for high academic achievement. This award is given to one recruited freshman and one upperclassman. Eligible students must have declared a major or minor in agriculture. Sophomore and junior applicants may have no grade below a “C” and just have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Recipients also must be of sound moral character and in need of financial assistance. Deadline is March 1. EC018. SCOTT COLLINS MEMORIAL.Open to students majoring in Agriculture with a 2.5 GPA. Preference will be given to students living in the Egyptian School District. If none apply, preference will be given to residents of Alexander County, Illinois. Deadline is March 1. ED029. THOMAS H. & BEATRICE COLVIN DUNNING. Open to a United States citizen with at least 60 hours of credit and a GPA of 2.75; must be attending the School of Polytechnic Studies and majoring in one of the following: Industrial & Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Technology. Award is renewable one time. EC038. ROBERT COX TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP. First preference to incoming freshman who has declared a major in industrial technology with an emphasis in technical graphics and shows interest in teaching industrial technology. Must be from the Southeast Missouri area. Award is not renewable. Deadline is March 1. EF011. FRIANT MEMORIAL. Open to entering freshmen whose parents or guardians are residents of and registered voters in Perry, Madison, Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Stoddard, New Madrid, Pemiscot or Dunklin counties; who have declared a major in Agriculture or Agri-Business. The scholarship is renewable for agriculture students who maintain a 3.5 GPA. Deadline is August 25. EK010. CHARLES AND MARION KORNS. Open to incoming freshmen majoring in Agriculture with preference being given to students declaring an option in Horticulture. Preference will be given to students with no other scholarships. Deadline is August 25. EM016. WILLIAM E. AND JOAN MEYER. Open to Missouri residents majoring in any of the disciplines within the Department of Agriculture. Applicant must also be a beginning freshman or transfer student from a community college with financial need. The applicant must not be the recipient of any other major scholarship. Deadline is March 1. EP014. JAMES HAROLD PAULLUS AGRICULTURAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND. Awarded to students with Agriculture as their primary field of study, who show evidence of need and research ability, willing to work in concert with a faculty member of the University who teaches or conducts research in the field of agriculture. First preference will be given to students from Wayne Couny or bordering counties in Missouri. Deadline is March 1. EP011. PROCTER AND GAMBLE SCHOLARS PROGRAM. Open to a minority or female student enrolled in the Electrical & Control Engineering studies program at Southeast Missouri State University; a graduate of any southeast Missouri high school or any other school mutually agreed to by P&G and the university. Applicant must have an overall high school GPA of 3.0 or better, have completed or will complete a College Preparatory Curriculum, have a composite ACT score of 21 or better, submit two written recommendations (one form their high school math or science teacher, one form their high school counselor or principal), complete an in-depth interview conducted on Southeast's campus by members of the Engineering Guidance committee. If there is no such applicant, second preference will be applicants from Dunklin County, Missouri or Clay County, Arkansas. Third preference will be students majoring in Agriculture. Applicant must be deserving and show promise of leadership and academic ability in the field of Agriculture. Applicant, or a member of the applicant's family, must be a member of the Missouri Farm Bureau. Preference will be given to students who have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours. Applicant must maintain a 3.0 GPA and be making satisfactory progress toward his or her degree. Deadline is March 1. |
