Reading Recovery^® is a highly effective, short-term intervention of one-to-one tutoring for first graders having trouble learning to read and write. Individual students receive a half-hour lesson each school day for 12 to 20 weeks with a specially trained Reading Recovery^® teacher. Nearly 80 percent of students who complete the full series of lessons can read and write within the average range of performance in their class.
