August 18

Yoga & Yogurt, 10:30am-12pm, Student Rec Center, West Gym

Come for the Yoga, stay for the Yogurt Bar! If moving in was a bit of a stress, come relax in our Yoga Flow class made up of lengthening and strengthening moves to get you ready to start classes on Monday. After class, please stay for our delicious and nutritious Yogurt Bar. Sponsored by Recreation Services.

Group Fitness Class Free Preview, through September 1, Student Rec Center

Preview all of our Group Fitness classes for FREE during the first two weeks of classes! Try out our Zumba, Body Barre, Yoga, Pilates, Aerial Yoga, Aerial Fitness, Real Ryder, TurboKick, TRX Training, and much more! We have many classes to choose from, so try them all and find your favorites. A full schedule is located at semo.edu/recservices. After these two weeks, a semester pass is $45.00 and attend any class you want for the entire semester. A one-time class pass is $4. Note: Make sure to sign up for those classes using our IMLEAGUES App.


August 28

Zumba Glow, 7:30 – 8:20 p.m., Student Rec Center – West Gym

Come on out and try our Zumba class but this week you get to glow while you dance! Glow in the dark accessories will be available and this week the class will be located in the West Gym. Dance, glow and have fun! Please register for this event by signing up through IMLEAGUES or else we will sign you up in person.


August 29

Back to School Splash Bash, 4 - 7p.m., Student Rec Center – Outside of Main Entrance

Join the SRC Fitness Staff, the Redhawk Health Educators and Show Me Gold for this fun, wet and wild event! Stop by for a chance to dunk a peer educator in our dunk tank by pledging to steer sober or play some other water games with the fitness staff. There will also be a chance to ask your fitness questions, learn about fitness orientations, buy a group fitness pass for the semester or try a class for free. Show Me Gold will be supplying food, so you can also stop by for sub sandwiches. T-shirts provided to those students who show up while supplies last.


September 12

Build Your Own Semester De-Stress Kit, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., UC, Lobby

Stop by the UC to build your own stress management kit. Pick and choose from a variety of stress relief tools, toys and resources that you can use at any time during the semester to help find positive ways to decompress. Bring your own shoe box to build your kit or we will provide canvas bags.


September 13

Group Fitness Professional Development Class – Student Rec Center

Interested in learning how to teach group fitness classes? Come learn with Recreation Services Fitness and Wellness staff in this 6-week professional development class. Cost is $25.00.
Informational Meeting: Sept. 12
Lecture/Practical: Sept. 19, 26, Oct. 3, 17, 24, November 7
Audition to become a Group Fitness Instructor: November 7
Times: 3:30-5p.m.


September 19

Lunar Loop, 7:30 – 9:30p.m., Student Rec Center

Come test your endurance in our fun, well-lit running route around campus. Make various stops to help you glow more as you run! There will be two starting points on campus; near LaFerla and near Kent Library you choose where you would like to start! Please register for this event by signing up through IMLEAGUES or we can sign you up in person the day of the event.


September 26

Sex in the UC, 11-1 p.m. & 4-6 p.m., UC, Program Lounge

Join our Redhawk Health Educators and the Campus Violence and Prevention Program in the UC to learn the about safe sex, healthy relationships, STD risks, consent and much more in the Sexual Health fair. Experts from Planned Parenthood will also be on hand to answer your questions in an anonymous “sexpert panel” at 1 pm that afternoon.


September 27

Outdoor CandleLit Yoga, 7:30 – 8:30 p.m., In front of Scully Building

Let’s take our Yoga outside for the evening and enjoy a class under the stars. Bring a mat and an extra towel to this event and we will provide the candles and glow in the dark accessories. Please register for this event by signing up through IMLEAGUES or else we will sign you up in person.


September 29

Self Defense Class, 11:00 am - 12:30 p.m., SRC – Multipurpose Room

Learn to defend yourself against a possible predator. Join Head Martial Arts Instructor, Nick Slinkard and learn ways to protect yourself in the event of an assault. Please register for this event by signing up through IMLEAGUES.


October 9-10

Employee Wellness Screening and Fair, 6 a.m. – 11 a.m. SRC-East Gym

Attention Southeast Employees! It’s that time of year to get your wellness level in check! Sign up to get your blood pressure, blood lipid profile, bone density, TSH, PSA, lung capacity checked alongside walking through our fair filled with over 30 health and wellness vendors on and off campus. A free breakfast will be provided to all those registered for the screening. Registration will begins two weeks prior to the event so be looking for more updates then.

Celebrate Group X Week, Student Recreation Center

Celebrate group fitness this week and wear fun attire to get a free extra tpunch on your card. There will be prizes for best dressed, door prizes and a photo booth!
Monday – Disney Days
Tuesday – Wear Your Redhawk Gear
Wednesday – 80’s Day –Dress like your favorite 80’s icon
Thursday – Dress in your Halloween costume
Friday – Favorite superhero or movie character day


October 24

Redhawk Warrior Night, 8:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. Student Recreation Center

Are you a fan of American Ninja Warrior? Come test your own ninja skills on our indoor obstacle course. Finishers receive a T-Shirt, winners receive an Intramural Championship T-Shirt!


November 28

Battleship Royale, 4-7 p.m., Student Aquatics Center

Rec Services and Show-Me Gold are partnering to bring you a fun, exciting evening of canoe battleship and canoe tug of war.


December 4 - 8

De-Stress Fest

Look for a schedule of events to find ways to unwind the week before finals. Free Yoga, Mindfulness, Stress Busters at the UC, Free Massage and SEMO Puppy Pals! Look for a detailed schedule a few weeks before the event.
