Its artistic director, Dr. Sara Edgerton, is a faculty member of Southeast Missouri State University; she is also the Professor of Cello and String Bass at Southeast. Liesl Schoenberger, violin soloist, is currently a violin performance major studying in the Master’s of Music program at Indiana University with artist teacher Mauricio Fuks. This past year, she was winner of the St. Louis City and Belleville Symphony Young Artist Competitions. Most recently, she gave a recital in St. Louis sponsored by the Artist Presentation Society of St. Louis. Solo performances include appearances in Carnegie Hall’s Recital Hall and with the Paducah, Mississippi, Kirkwood, Belleville, and St. Louis University City Symphonies. Recent summer festivals and public appearances include performances in Canada, France, and Austria. A native of Cape Girardeau, Liesl began her violin studies at the age of two and a half years old, and was a student at St. Mary’s Cathedral School and Notre Dame High School here in Cape. This is Liesl’s second appearance with the Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra. |
