Tom Harte Host, Caffé Concerto Tom Harte is a retired faculty member from Southeast Missouri State University where he was an award-winning teacher, a nationally recognized debate coach, and chair of the department of Speech Communication and Theatre. A founder of "My Daddy’s Cheesecake," a dessert emporium in Cape Girardeau, and a food columnist for the Southeast Missourian, his passion for food unites with his passion for classical music in his daily program, The Caffe Concerto. A lover of classical music since childhood, he says most of what he knows about the subject he has gleaned from furiously reading album liner notes during selections played on his program, frequent forays to St. Louis to hear the symphony, and from occasional tutoring by his namesake son, a Julliard-trained double bassist. An inveterate traveler, he has been to the five major continents and the seven seas in search of fresh recipes and fresh music. Tom also hosts A Harte Appetite and co-hosts Going Public. |
