Barbara Herbert first became connected with KRCU in 1992 when she joined the Community Advisory Board of the station. She started her opera program in 1995 and then in 2001 became music programmer and host of Afternoon Classics.

Her favorite hobbies are archaeology, opera and  travelling; she has toured extensively in Greece, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Cyprus, Egypt, Corsica,  the United Kingdom and Italy. Barb says that the opera tours to Italy were some of the most interesting of all.

A graduate of the University of Memphis, Barbara and her husband Tom, a retired dentist, live on a small farm in Cape County.
