Dan Woods
General Manager

Dan is the General Manager of KRCU. He’s been with the station since August 1996.

Dan graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1994 – he majored in radio and minored in political science. He spent three of his four years at Southeast working as a student announcer at KRCU – the beginning of his radio career.

After graduation, Dan moved to Savannah, Ga., and worked as the morning announcer for WSVH Public Radio. He was there for almost two years. His duties included hosting NPR's Morning Edition and recording satellite-fed programming for later broadcast.

In 1996, Dan returned to Cape Girardeau as operations director at KRCU – he was responsible for supervising all of the announcing staff, daily traffic logs and satellite recordings. In addition, Woods oversaw the production of local programs on KRCU.

In 2002, Dan became the general manager of the station – responsible for the overall management of KRCU. His duties include: supervising all full-time staff, project management, grant writing and station development.

During his tenure at the station, KRCU has successfully added a repeater station at 88.9 FM in Farmington, Missouri; secured backup generators for both transmitter sites and the station's studios on the Southeast campus; relocated the KRCU studios from a small building at the corner of Broadway and Henderson in Cape Girardeau to the Serena Building on the campus in 2008; successfully converted 88.9 FM in HD (High-Definition) in 2011.

Dan is married, has two children and lives in Jackson, Mo.
