7 p.m. | Chanukah in Story and Song: Narrated by Leonard Nimoy and sung by the acclaimed vocal sextet, The Western Wind Vocal Ensemble. "Chanukah in Story and Song" is a unique holiday program created especially for public radio listeners.

9 a.m. | Zorba Paster on Your Health: In the Kitchen for the HolidaysDr. Zorba Paster and Tom Clark are in their radio kitchen for the holidays, inviting friends in and sharing heart-healthy recipes perfect for this festive time of year.

Wednesday, December 19

7 p.m. | A Baroque Christmas: Hosted by Jim Cunningham, "A Baroque Christmas" features selections from the ensemble's holiday concerts performed over several years, along with brief interview clips about the music. The concert includes music from Bach's "Christmas Oratorio," sonatas from Schmelzer and Biber, plus a festive European sampler of popular carols from centuries past.

8p.m. | A Musical Meander: Join Southeast Public Radio’s Alan Journet as he presents his annual solstice program, featuring seasonal musical selections and readings from James Finn Garner's collections of politically correct children's stories.

Friday, December 21

9 p.m. | Red Hot Holiday Stomp: If Saint Nicholas played trumpet in New Orleans, it might sound like this. Wynton Marsalis (trumpet), his dad Ellis (piano), singer Roberta Gumbel, newcomer Dan Nimmer (piano) and old friends and bandmates Herlin Riley (drums), Wycliffe Gordon (Trombone) and Wes Anderson (alto saxophone), make this annual holiday party a hit. Our favorites include Let It Snow, The Sheik of Araby and Good King Wenceslas with a “Cajun-flavor”.

7 p.m. | Your Folk Connection: Join Barney Hartline, Terry Wright and Jim Hickam as they present their Christmas program with a lot of great folk music and some fun for all listeners -- young and young at heart.

9 a.m. | I Saw Three Ships: from Jamestown to the World: Host Dan Roberts is joined by actors Dorothy Holland and Michael Goodwin in "I Saw Three Ships: From Jamestown to the World," an hour-long holiday special on the settlement of Jamestown as a pivotal historical marker for contemporary times.

Monday, December 24

5 a.m. | Morning Edition: "The Santaland Diaries" Returns
David Sedaris's humorous recounting of his experiences playing Crumpet the Elf at Macy's in New York first aired on Morning Edition in 1992, and is now a holiday classic. Catch a rebroadcast of it the morning of Christmas Eve, on Southeast Public Radio.

4 p.m. | All Toys Considered : All I want for Christmas is…
Sure, every year has a hot toy. But how many of these playthings actually become favorites? And what impact does that beloved Chatty Cathy or Mr. Science Chemistry Set really have on a child’s life? Listen to All Things Considered on Christmas Eve as NPR voices share memories of their must-have toys from years past.

While many Best of 2007 lists are popping up everywhere, All Things Considered offers a chance to discover this year's overlooked books, music and movies. Tune in for this week-long series beginning Christmas Eve to unwrap some surprise gems

7 p.m. | Broadway Melodies: Christmas Around the World: Join Dennis Seyer as he offers holiday songs from around the world; featuring USA, England, Ireland and Germany.

8 p.m. | Lessons & Carols from Washington National Cathedral: Each Christmas Eve, the Cathedral hosts a quietly spectacular Lesson and Carols, one of its most attended and cherished events of the year. The service combines Biblical readings that chronicle the story of Jesus' birth with age-old and all-new carols, from folk to ethereal polyphony. Attendees and listeners thrill to the swell of many voices and organ together, as well as to the contemplative hush of "Silent Night" as the service ends.

9 p.m. | A Christmas Carol: Local, state and national award-winning actor Arthur Wilhite comes home to Southeast Public Radio with a new version of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," from Wilhite's own adaptation for radio.

Tuesday, December 25

8 p.m. | Christmas with the Philadelphia Singers: An annual favorite, "Christmas with the Philadelphia Singers" is a concert of traditional and contemporary holiday music performed by the renowned choral group. This year, the famed ensemble celebrates Christmas on Logan Square with a program of 20th-century music.

9 p.m. | Carols for Dancing: Explore the intimate connection between song and dance in this rich heritage of holiday music. Built around vigorous performances by Renaissonics — an award-winning improvisatory Renaissance dance band that produced new arrangements for this special.

Sunday, December 30

9 a.m. | Season’s Griot:  "A Season's Griot 2007" is public radio's only nationally syndicated Kwanzaa program. Hosted for the last 15 years by acclaimed storyteller Madafo Lloyd Wilson, this annual one-hour special captures the tales and traditions of African American and African peoples. This year, the program focuses on the National Association of Black Storytellers, in honor of the group's 25th anniversary.

Monday, December 31

7 p.m. | Broadway Melodies: Seasonal Favorites to Ring in the New Year: Join Dennis Seyer as he offers songs that say goodbye to 2007 and hello to 2008.
