Kelley Baker is a filmmaker. An angry filmmaker. Seething.

Kelley Baker has directed three full-length movies, Kicking Bird, The Gas Cafe, and Birddog. He worked was the sound designer for six Gus Van Sant feature films, among them My Own Private Idaho, Good Will Hunting, and Finding Forrester.

He is the author of the book The Angry Filmmaker Survival Guide Part One: Making the Extreme No Budget Film.

Baker is angry about the state of modern independent film distribution, and he will give a Common Hour presentation this Wednesday at noon in Rose Theatre on the Southeast Missouri State University campus on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 12 noon.

He spoke with KRCU's Jacob McCleland.
