Matt Martino is a Nashville-based singer whose debut CD, Let It Shine, was released in 2007. The set of songs, overall, tells a story of perseverance when things seem to really hit the bottom, of somehow keeping your head up and convincing yourself that things are going to be alright. There’re stories of booze, of success, and even a murder ballad tossed in for good measure. Let It Shine has received national accolades, and tracks from the album have appeared on the new 90210.
A native of nearby Cobden, Illinois, music fans in Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois may remember Martino as the leader of the Carbondale-based band Stank Willie.
