Dr. Anouar Majid is an author of several books and an English professor at the University of New Enlgland. Of Moroccan descent, Dr. Majid has written extensively on Islam and the place for religion in a postcolonial, globalized world.

His most recent book is entitled A Call for Heresy:  Why Dissent is Vital to Islam and America, published by the University of Minnesota Press.
