Craig Thomas is a Cape Girardeau artist known for his murals and sidewalk art. He spoke with Joel Rhodes to discuss the upcoming First Friday Art Openings and the Cape Girardeau art community.

The Reverend Michael Dowd’s new book, Thank God for Evolution, touches on the often controversial relationship between science and religion. Published by Viking/Plume, the book offers Dowd’s perspective formed by years of personal experience as a man of God and learning.

New Madrid: A Mississippi River Town in History and Legend is a new book by Mary Sue Anton. New Madrid may be best known for its earthquakes, but at one time it was destined to become the capital of New Spain. The book was published by Southeast Missouri State University Press, and explores the history and folklore of the Southeast Missouri town.

Mary Sue Anton spoke with Southeast Missouri State University historian, Joel Rhodes.
