This past week, four Uighur prisoners who were detained in Guantanamo Bay prison were released in Bermuda. Thirteen other Uighur prisoners may be sent to the Pacific Island of Palau in the coming weeks. The Uighur prisoners are from China, where they are a Muslim ethnic minority. Jacob McCleland talked with Blaine Kaltman, author of Under the Heel of the Dragon: Islam, Racism, Crime, and the Uighur in China, published by Ohio University Press.

The organization Citizens for Missouri’s Children recently released their annual Kids Count Report, which looks at the well-being of children throughout the state. The report rates each county – and the City of St. Louis – in order from best place for kids to last. Cape Girardeau County slipped 22 spots from 26th to 48th. Emily Schwartze, policy director for Citizens for Missouri's Children, discusses the findings.
