If you’ve been to the SEMO District Fair this week, you probably expected to find livestock, rides, and games. If you paid close enough attention, you may have heard something a little unexpected – Afrikaans, one of the many languages spoken in South Africa. KRCU's Jacob McCleland talked with some South African carnvial workers who are on the government's temporary work visa program.

Dr. Mark Langenfeld teaches in the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation at Southeast Missouri State University. He joins us to talk about ultra-endurance exercie.

A neighborhood wedged between Southeast Missouri State University and Capaha Park in Cape Girardeau is close to becoming the city’s first designated residential historic district. City Council will hold a second public reading of a proposal that would establish the Boulevard Historic District at tomorrow evening’s meeting in City Hall. KRCU's Joshua Smith reports.
