Tom Cushman is a Cape Girardeau native and Southeast Missouri State University alumnus. For 40 years he was a sportswriter for the Philadelphia Daily News and the San Diego Union-Tribune. He covered countless sporting events ranging from the World Series, to Olympics, to Super Bowls, and more.

But boxing was always the sports that caught his eye.

Cushman has written a new book entitled Muhammad Ali and the Greatest Heavyweight Generation, published by the Southeast Missouri State University Press. He spoke with KRCU's Jacob McCleland.
