Southeast Missouri State University and the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center will host a unique program on Saturday, September 27 at the River Campus. It’s the Connecting People with the Land Expo, and it will celebrate Archaeology Month and Hunting & Fishing Day.

Missouri ranks 47th in the nation in higher education funding. The Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education decided that ranking isn’t good enough.
To help improve higher education in the Show-Me State, the board has recommended a 7.4% increase in funding. That would mean 70.5 million dollars more for funding for Missouri’s universities and colleges.
Paul Wagner, deputy commissioner for the Missouri Department of Higher Education, talked about the allocation request with Jacob McCleland.
