It’s a nightmare scenario for many of us … late at night, you’re fast asleep … and you awake to the jarring beeps of your smoke detector. Your house is on fire. You and your family are lucky enough to escape, but you lose EVERYTHING. Today’s guest, Candace Quinn, lived through a house fire in which all of her worldly possessions were destroyed. She’s written a book about the experience to help people prepare for the worst.Candace Quinn is the Chief Strategist at Southeast Missouri Hospital and a health care consultant. She is also the author of "I Survived a House Fire ... I Wish My Stuff Had." She spoke with Going Public's Tom Harte.
We’ll also speak with author, Iraq war veteran, and Mike Huckabee delegate Wayne Bowen. Dr. Wayne Bowen is the new chair of the Department of History at Southeast Missouri State University. Dr. Bowen comes from a diverse background - he’s a major in the Army Reserve, an alternate delegate at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul, and a scholar of Spanish and Saudi Arabian history. He has also written a book entitled “Undoing Saddam: From Occupation to Sovereignty in Northern Iraq.”
