The New York Times’ Adam Cohen joins us to talk about his new book, Nothing to Fear: FDR’s Inner Circle and the Hundred Days That Created Modern America. There has been no shortage of comparisons between the fledgling Presidency of Barack Obama and the 1933 inauguration of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Both followed unpopular lame-duck Presidents and both faced a disastrous financial crisis. Obama and his staff have famously been reading up on Roosevelt’s first One Hundred Days in office.
Cohen discusses Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s “team of rivals” and the impact the “hundred days” had on incoming Presidents ever since.
