Both nationally and statewide here in Missouri, the Republican Party is suffering something of an image crisis. Michael Steele, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, wants to move the party in a new direction, with fresh, more energetic candidates. Yet, according to Thomas Schweich, neither the national nor the Missouri Republican Party are taking heed.
Mr. Schweich is a former ambassador for counter-narcotics and justice reform in Afghanistan during the George W. Bush administration. He’s currently ambassador-in-residence and visiting professor at Washington University in St. Louis.

Thomas Marrone manages web design and support for Southeast Missouri State University. In his spare time, he works as an artist. He recently had the good fortune to have his illustrations included in the latest edition of one of his favorite series of books – the “Honor Harrington” novels by David Weber. Wayne Bowen is the chair of the History Department at Southeast Missouri State University. Dr. Bowen is an expert in modern Spanish history and he has done extensive research in modern Middle East history.
In addition to his duties at Southeast Missouri State University, Bowen is also a major in the Army Reserves. Last summer, Bowen participated as an academic fellow for the Foundation For the Defense For Democracy in Israel.
Bowen recently gave an Athenaeum presentation on the history of terrorism in Israel.
